Valerie Costa, an Austrian vocalist born in Tyrol, completed her Jazz Voice studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz before making Vienna her home base for further career pursuits.

Discovering her passion for music at a young age, Valerie Costa's talent and dedication earned her a nomination for the Jazznachwuchspreis der BTV 2021 by TonArt Tirol.

As the vocalist of AR-Project, a quintet founded by Austrian bass-player Anna Reisigl, Valerie played a pivotal role in the success of their debut album Close Bye, released in March 2023. The album not only received the Joe Zawinul Prize 2023 but was also recognized as the Publication of the Year 2023 by TonArt Tirol. They performed their music live at significant Austrian venues such as the Radiokulturhaus, Porgy & Bess, and Treibhaus, and are planning for another EP and tour in 2024.

Valerie has shared stages with respected Jazz musicians nationally. In 2024, she toured Europe with two-time Grammy nominee Manu Delago, adding another chapter to her musical journey. Only recently has she returned to Vienna.
